Entries for the 2007 contest must be received by December 1st, 2007

Eligibility

To enter, you must be at least 18 years of age and a U.S. citizen. JMRRCOC employees or members are not eligible to win but may still enter their stories for all to read. All Stories must be relavant to the Jackman-Moose River Region and in good taste.

Copyright

Entries must be submitted by the original writer. Do not submit a story that was written by someone else. If it is a story told to you, you must give credit to that person in writing.Your submission of the story and entry form is your guarantee that you are the author of the story.

Number of Entries

An individual may submit 2 stories per contest.

Story Restrictions

Stories must be appropriate for posting on a public website. Obscene, provocative or otherwise questionable content will not be considered. JMRRCOC retains sole discretion as to what constitutes inappropriate content. Entry must be no more than 600 words.

Ownership/Use Rights

By entering the contest, you agree to have your submitted story displayed on the JMRRCOC website or other related publication without any fee or other form of compensation, and that we may make and retain copies of the story for archival purposes. Entries (including non-winning entries) may be selected for display or use in other Advertising venues for the JMRCOC. Entrants agree that JMRRCOC may contact them to obtain permission for use of the story in this way. Entries will never be used by JMRRCOC in any manner for advertising or sale.

How to Enter

Stories may be submitted using the online entry form by copying and pasting your story into the message box. Stories may also be mailed along with completed entry forms to JMRRCOC (see further instructions below). Each entry must be accompanied by a completed contest entry form. If you are submitting multiple entries, be sure to indicate clearly which form belongs with each story. Entries must be received by December 1st, 2007.

Judging

Entries will be judged on the basis of creativity, how unusual or unexpected the experience may be and the effectiveness in conveying the experience in words. The executive committee of the JMRRCOC will judge the entries and all contest decisions are final. Entries that fail to comply with the Official Contest Rules will be disqualified.

Winners

The Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee will judge and select one story as the winner. If fewer than ten eligible stories are entered, JMRRCOC may choose to cancel the contest. The winner will be notified approximately 2-3 weeks after the contest deadline by phone and email using the information on the entry form. Along with a winner notification, winners will be sent an affidavit of eligibility and release. Winner must execute, without making changes, and return this release for receipt by JMRRCOC within 7 days of the date on the winner notification letter. Failure to execute and return this affidavit within 7 days will result in disqualification. Winning stories, along with your name, email address (optional) and other information about the story, may be displayed on the Jackman-Moose River Region website. The winner will be awarded a two night stay for two people one of our great lodging facilities in the Jackman-Moose River Region. Lodging options will be announced before the entry deadline. If there is a tie, each entry will receive a one night stay for two. The winning certificate(s) will be valid from January 1st, 2008 through December 1st, 2008. No financial compensation is provided to winners.

Additional Terms and Conditions

By participating in the contest, you agree to release and hold harmless JMRRCOC and its employees, officers, affiliates, agents, and advertising and promotional agencies from any and all damages, injuries, claims, causes of actions, or losses of any kind resulting from your participation in this contest, including infringement of intellectual property rights. JMRRCOC and its employees, officers, affiliates, agents, and advertising and promotional agencies assume no responsibility or liability for any damages, injuries, claims, causes of actions, or losses of any kind arising in whole or in part from this contest.
